Mrs. Stephens was born and reared in Simpson County and moved to Jackson upon graduating from high school. She retired from the Mississippi State Board of Health after 36 1/2 years of service. She was a faithful member of Pearson Baptist Church in Pearl and was known for her kindness and loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jolly W. Stephens, four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: son, Mike Stephens, his wife Marie; and granddaughters, Amy and Jessica, all of Pearl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
