Daughter of William Henry Selsor and Hannah Miller, wife of James P. Walton, and mother of Mabel Hannah and Edgar P. Walton. Catherine ("Kate" of the 1850 Census) was born in Germantown, where her father William H. Selsor was a partner in the metal manufacturing business of Ridgway, Selsor & Rufe until his death in 1858. Catherine may be buried (without a stone) in Plot 6 of Hood Cemetery, where her father William Henry Selsor and her grandfather Henry Selsor are buried. The original deed to plot 6 (still in the possession of descendants of Henry) shows that the deed was transferred to William Henry's brother Abraham with the agreement of the children of William Henry, shortly before Catherine's death. Catherine, a new widow, died in December 1879 at the house of her mother Hannah Miller Selsor at 144 Ashmead St., near St. Stephen's M.E. burying ground where Catherine's husband and infant son were buried shortly before her death of consumption. Her choice of burial in Hood's Cemetery suggests that there may still have been room in Plot 6, which measured 8 feet by 10 feet.
