Amos, Douglas Francis, 54 of Davie passed away on April 12th, 2013 after a courageous fight with Carcinoid Cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Lee Kowal Amos, daughter Gina Mainhart (Shane) and son Donnie Amos. He is also survived by his mother Elaine Gindel and stepfather Roland, sisters Denise Cummings (Bobby), Tricia Van Benthuysen (Mark), Kellie Carroll (Damon) and nieces and nephews Danny, Dylan, Ashlie, Dalton, Christie and Bobby. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Amos. Doug was born in 1958 in Miami, FL then moved to Rolling Oaks in 1970. He graduated from Cooper City High in 1976 where he played varsity football. He worked as a Union Electrician in Local 349 before becoming a general contractor, forming Doug Amos Construction in 1984. Doug was a pillar in his community always lending a hand to help others, doing various volunteer work which included major improvements to the baseball facilities at Nova High School. He coached many baseball and football teams in the Weston area. He was a devoted father and husband. His passions included hunting, golfing, and fishing. He loved to spend his free time in the Keys. Doug enjoyed life to the fullest- Once you met Doug you never forgot him. He was full of life, charm and wit. His personality was infectious. Doug had many friends that will miss him and his humor. A celebration service of Doug's life will be held on Saturday, April 20th 2013 from 2pm-4pm at Parkway Christian Church - 1200 South Flamingo Road Davie, FL 33325. Cremation arrangements T.M.
