USNA Class of 1948, Lieutenant Junior Grade Bramwell was the pilot of a F9F-2 Pantherjet fighter with Fighter Squadron 51 aboard the carrier USS ESSEX (CV-9). On September 4, 1951, while on a mission over Haengsan, Korea, his aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire, crashed and exploded. His remains were not recovered.
