Michael and Joann Phillips, ages 69 and 62 respectively, died on Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Nebraska as a result of a traffic accident.

Michael was born on June 12, 1942, in Flint, MI, son of the late Robert and Margaret (Tevin) Phillips. He attended the Alpena High School. He was a U.S. Naval veteran serving from November 4, 1959 to July 26, 1963. He served on the U.S.S. Montrose APA-212. Mike retired from the Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay.

Joann was born on April 4, 1949, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Zeman) Cisler. She was a 1968 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Joan retired from Hamilton's Industries in Two Rivers.

On March 8, 1969, Mike and Joann were married, having their first daughter on June 14, 1971, and their second daughter on December 24, 1973. Through the years, our Mom and Dad worked hard to provide for us. We had a happy, loving home. They taught us to be strong, caring, individuals. We traveled as a family when we were young, mostly to Alpena, MI. and once to Texas to visit family. After we were grown, Mom and Dad traveled extensively; it seemed they were always leaving to go somewhere. During their 43 years together, as they traveled to Navy reunions, visiting family and friends in all parts of the U.S. and abroad, by car or by Harley. They touched the lives of all. They loved their grandchildren tremendously and loved having them over every Sunday for brunch. Mom and Dad also loved babysitting for Kennedy "their little pumpkin" during the week so Chris could further her education. They enjoyed cooking together, eating at Green Street, and time spent at the culinary school in Appleton. Dad enjoyed his cigars, his mug of ice tea, and motorcycle rides. Mom enjoyed her special dark candy bars, gardening, walks with her friend Linda and getting together for birthdays with her sisters and brothers and with Ruthie and Jane. Mom was also known as the "Pool Queen" and a 17 year survivor of breast cancer. Mom and Dad were members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) of Sheboygan County and Dad's Sunday Breakfast Club A.A. family.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Laura Bishop, Manitowoc and her fiancé, Jeff Novak Jr.; Christina (Jeremy) Kulpa, Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Kayla and Michael Bishop, Manitowoc; Kyle Phillips; Kelly and Kennedy Kulpa, Two Rivers; Dad's brother: Roger Phillips, Las Vegas, NV; Mom's brothers and sisters include: LeRoy Cisler, Manitowoc; Joseph Cisler, Shoto; Don (Kris) Cisler, Manitowoc; Sandy Madsen, Shoto; Margie (Ken) Stewart, Caddo Mills, TX. Mom was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Helen Cisler; two brothers: Edward Cisler Jr.; Charles Cisler; and one brother-in-law: Robert Madsen.

Our Mom and Dad will be forever in our hearts and we will think about them everyday. Our arms will be empty until we meet again and can do "4 HUGS and 4 KISSES". - Love, Little Laura Annie and Buddly

Our Mother and Father loved each other a great deal and as tragic as this is, we cannot imagine one without the other. Fate brought them together and as fate would have it, they left this earth together.

Forever Inseparable
