Jennifer Claire Hawkins Baxter, 36, of Owens Cross Roads passed away peacefully at her home in Hampton Cove Friday. Jennifer was born in Lafayette, LA, and grew up in south Alabama. She graduated from Baldwin County High School, and then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Alabama. She then earned her Master's Degree from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. She lived a life that was anchored in her strong faith, her family, her friends, and her work at the church. Jennifer was deeply loved, and those that knew her were blessed by her smile, her sense of humor, and her resolve to be her best in everything she did. She inspired everyone around her with her faith and strength throughout her battle with cancer, and shared her experience through her blog at www.mysmalljourney.wordpress.com

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Cove United Methodist Church. The celebration of life service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Cove United Methodist Church, with John Tanner, Senior Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Jennifer Baxter Fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union. Her family plans to start an ongoing fund to help others who are fighting cancer, and to help raise awareness for small cell cervical cancer
