Final Rites for Arthur Ryerson

Funeral services for Arthur Ryerson, who died Sept. 18 at Collins Memorial Hospital, were held Sept. 21 from Williams funeral home with Rev. M. H. Mooberry officiating. Burial was in Breckenridge Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers were Ed Allen, Alex Erickson, Loren Cooney, Steve DeGeest, Jack Toigo & Jay Collins. Casketbearers were Leo Isley, Joe Tonda Jr., George Stover, James Finley, Ed VandeKamp & Thurman Floyd. Mrs. Owen Elliott, organist accompanied Richard Hunt, soloist. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Gene Lang & Mrs. Roger Batten.

Arthur Louis, son of Louis Arthur & Sarah Rhoades Raphael, was born June 12, 1899 at Kirkville. His mother died when he was six weeks old & he was reared by Mr. & Mrs. George Ryerson. He began working in the coal mines at an early age & continued in this work until the Pershing mines closed. He was then employed at the VA Hospital until retiring.

On Nov. 16, 1920 he was united in marriage to Blanche Lorene Fry, who died June 15, 1956. On Jan. 10, 1959 he was united in marriage to Beulah M. Loynachan. He was a member of the Zion Methodist Church. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Beulah of Knoxville; one daughter, Mrs. Louise VerSteeg of Knoxville; two sons, Howard of Indio, Calif., & William of Knoxville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Raphael of San Gabriel, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Thomas of Pomona, Calif., & Mrs. Ethel Boetcher of San Gabriel, Calif.
