There will be no viewing at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, on Wednesday, prior to the mass of Christian Burial.

Elaine Elizabeth Roth was born August 27, 1925, in Redfield to Ralph and Wilhelmena (Gueke) Boyd. She attended school in Redfield . On November 9 1942, Elaine married Francis Roth, of Dimock, South Dakota. This 44-year union was blessed with seven children. Together with their children they farmed northwest of Redfield. Her life revolved around church, family and the GGG club. She was an active member of the St. Bernard's where she attended adoration and Koinonia. She was also a charter member of the Blue Army cell prayer group and a member of the Serra club. Three causes very dear to her heart included anything that showed respect or support for the Right to Life issue, anything that encouraged financial support for the diocesan seminary education, and anything that would support and raise money for the youth pilgrimages to Fatima, Portugal. When not working on her causes, she enjoyed spending time with her family and pursuing her hobbies of music, sewing, gardening and canning. But one of her greatest joys came with spending time with her grandchildren, especially doing crafts and praying the rosary with them.

Elaine is survived by her son, Ralph (Glenda) of Redfield; her daughter Eileen (Bob) Graham of Aberdeen; her son Lynn (Nancy) of Abilene,Texas; her daughter Kathy Harr of Redfield; her daughter Marilyn (Dr. David) Wachs of Aberdeen; her daughter Karen (Steve) Randall of Platte, SD, her daughter-in-law Justina Roth, Redfield; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; sister Gladie Tuscher; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Boyd; sister-in-law Jerri Boyd; and sister in law Celesta Roth; and Theresa Esser, who was like a sister to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; son John, son Gene, brother Melvin, brother Laverne, brother Delbert, daugher-in-law Mary Ann (Heber), son-in-law Doyle Harr, grandson Ryan Harr, great-grand daugher Regan Harr and brother-in-law Ray Roth.

In the lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to the Francis and Elaine Roth Seminary Fund.
