He was the son of Hans and
Kjersten Eriksen and was born
February 14, 1877, at Rorth,
Denmark.
He came to America In 1893. After
landing In New York, he came direct
to Omaha, Nebr., where he made
his home until 1906. In that year
he came to Newell, where he was
united in marriage to Annie Marie
Nielsen, December 26, 1906.
Two daughters were born to this
union, Mabel Catherine August 9,
1909, and who passed away March
15, 1916, and Mabel Kjerston, born
June 5, 1911, who is now a resident
of Washington, D. C.
Jens Peter Christian Hansen was
the youngest o£ 10 children, there
being five brothers and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his
brothers, Rasmus and Thomas, and
three sisters, Marie, Johanna and
Sine.
The deceased was baptized and
confirmed in the Danish Lutheran
church In Denmark, and remained
true to that faith. He was a member
of the D. B. S. lodge.
He farmed west of Newell until
1920 when he removed to the town
of Newell, where he engaged in
various lines. At the time of his
death he was engaged in the auto
accessory business.
