Eileen M. Stroup, 67, 4871 Alexandria Pike, died Thursday at St. John's Medical Center following a three-year illness. She was born November 17, 1922 in Tipton County, and had resided in Anderson since 1926. She retired in 1974 from inspection at Delco-Remy after 31-1/2 years of employment. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Phi Sigma Alpha sorority, National Council of Senior Citizens, Killbuck Retirees, Anderson Fine Arts Center, United Auto Workers Local 662, and had been a Pink Lady at Community Hospital, 1968-69. Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Delmar L. Stroup; one son, Richard Lee Edmonson of Daleville, one stepson, Robert L. Stroup of Merrillville, one step-daughter Rebecca L. Stroup of Anderson; one sister, Thelma Click of Lake Station; one step-sister, Helen Maynard of Kokomo; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Robert L. Stroup of the United Pentecostal Church, Merrillville, officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
