Charles Weldon Barnes, 63, of Crescent, GA died Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Barnes, Craig Jacobs, Leslie Jacobs, Robert Hall, Al Rushing, Jack O'Quinn, Tony Farris and Warren Reyna. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles Barnes was a native of Screven, GA and had been a resident of McIntosh County for the past eighteen years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force, serving in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed carpenter most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Haugland Barnes of Crescent; three daughters, Sheri Hall of Brunswick, GA, Lita Jacobs of Hortense, GA, Vicki Rushing of Waynesville, GA; a son, Ronald Barnes of Darien, GA; a sister, Janet Lorge of Hapeville, GA; two brothers, Carnes Barnes of Greenville, SC, Robert D. Barnes of Brunswick, GA; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests those wishing make memorial contributions to Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
