Frieda K. Retzlaff Deprey (sic), age 87, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, March 2, 2004, at the Health Care Center after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2004, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, with the Rev. Robert Johannes officiating, with burial in the Forest View Cemetery in Two Rivers.
Frieda was born May 6, 1916 in Sheboygan, to the late Gottlieb and Mary Weimann Kunstmann Sr. She attended school in Sheboygan. Frieda married Leslie Retzlaff on Dec. 28, 1935, and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1960. She later married Edward Deprey on July 27, 1973, and he also preceded her in death on May 28, 1992. She was formerly employed by the Lapcor Manufacturing Co., Manitowoc, and later worked for the Mirro Manufacturing Company. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, and enjoyed baking for her family. She also enjoyed her cat, Mitzie, and flower gardening.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Allan Flentje, Mishicot; a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Retzlaff, Two Rivers; six grandchildren, Doug (Mary) Flentje, Randy Flentje and his special friend, Kay, Todd Flentje and his special friend, Amy, Scott Flentje, Kevin (Kris) Retzlaff, and Craig Retzlaff; two great-grandchildren, Brice and Alex. She is further survived by four brothers, Gottlieb Kunstmann Jr., Two Rivers; Johnny (Lucille) Kunstmann, Manitowoc; Emil (Irene) Kunstmann, Two Rivers; Elmer(Joyce) Kunstmann, Florida; two sisters, Pauline Kornely, Two Rivers; Marie Hoppe, Manitowoc; a brother-in-law, Milton Retzlaff, Two Rivers; Marie Hoppe, Manitowoc; a brother-in-law, Milton Retzlaff, Two Rivers; and by her stepchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son, Keith Retzlaff; one brother, Adolph Kunstmann; two sisters, Clara Reynolds, Emily Kober; and by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
