Mr. Dean was born March 22, 1931 to Lonnie and Gladys Dean. He entered into rest October 10, 2013 in Homer, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. Mr. Dean served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and worked in sales in the automotive industry.
Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Dean and sister Fannie Sue Merritt.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Cole Dean of Homer, son Lonnie Wayne Dean and wife Donna of Homer, daughters Flora Dean Towns and husband Randy of Houston, Nora Dean Howard of Homer, Judy Dean Hamilton of Homer, brothers James Dean and wife Nellie Jean of Lisbon, Tinty Dean and wife Sheila Mae of Homer, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hamilton, Josh Hamilton, Mike Towns, Daniel Ledford, Charles Dean and Ray Hammon.
Honorary pallbearer(s) will be Bobby Harper, Buddy Mills, Billy Hattaway, and J. R. Boyett
