Born in Torina, Germany, Catherina Maringer Haile came to the US in 1857,and shortly thereafter, on September 30, 1857, she married Lorenz Haile (1830-1911) first settling in Minersville, Pa then moving to Shamokin in 1874. Catherina purchased Race Street (Shamokin) properties in 1876 and 1882, the properties remaining in the Haile family until shortly after he death. She died December 31, 1918 at 85 years of age. She is buried in St Edward's Cemetery, Shamokin, Pa. Lorenz (1830-1911) and his wife Catherina Maringer Haile (1833-1918)had 8 children; Peter Haile 1860-1941; Michael Haile 1862-1952; Joseph Haile 1870-1925; Francis Haile 1869-????; Charles A Haile 1878-1922; Lawrence Haile 1864-????; Katherine Haile McLaughlin 1874-1947; a son John Haile was born in 1869 and died as a young child.
