Dan McCue, 49, of Bristol, IL passed away June 19, 2005 at Provena Mercy Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer with his family and friends by his side. He was born on December 9, 1955 to Jim and Joan (Brown) McCue.
Danny loved his position as Captain with the Aurora Fire Department with 26 years of service with his 212 brothers and two sisters during which time he served 17 years as a paramedic on Medic 1.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Darlene (Lovstad) McCue; children, Cristin, Joey, Alyssa and Brian; his mother and father, Joan and Jim; brothers and sisters, Jim (Nicole), Tom, Kathy, Bill (Barb), John (Laura) and Patti (Mike); father-in-law, John (Ellen) Bidgood; brother-in-law, Bob (Judy) Lovstad; nieces and nephews, Kelly (Cody), Kari, Katie, Jessica, Jaime, Stacy (Eric) Amy, Steven, Nathan, Ryan, Carly, Cody, Nicole, Jack, Samantha, Emily and Michael; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his former wife, Cathy Wyatt. He is also survived by his faithful companions, Ashley and Rocky and many friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Gertrude Brown; paternal grandparents, Jim and Daisy McCue; mother-in-law, Lorraine E. Bidgood; aunts, Carol Burke, Diane Fezekas; nephew, Anthony (McCue) Moravek; and cousin, Jeff McCue.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 9:30 AM to St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 10 AM. Pastor Wayne Miller will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, from 2 to 9 PM at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Danny McCue Memorial/Aurora Firefighters Scholarship Fund at Old Second Bank.
