He was a Pentecost preacher, farmer & loving father to nine children. He married Leva in 1921 in Oklahoma & they raised the first five of the nine children there. In the late 1930s, they moved to Arkansas where the last four children were born.
There's no proof of Native American blood in our family but he used to tell stories of how his (maternal) grandfather would sit up nights after Jessie Anna was born guarding her to keep the Indians from "stealing her" & taking her back to the reservation. Grandpa stated this is why he never allowed her to be placed on the Indian rolls as he was afraid they would take her away from him.
Daddy was never a man of wealth in earthly riches but left this world a better place for having been a part of it.
