Anchorage resident GERALD WINFIELD RILEY, 70, died of natural causes Feb. 27, 2001, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Visitation will be at noon Monday with a funeral following at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Chapel downtown. Burial will follow at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Mr. Riley was born Nov. 5, 1930, in San Diego. He graduated from high school and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1963, he moved to Kodiak. He moved to Anchorage in 1970. He had worked for the Salvation Army in the Old Age Transportation Service (OATS) until his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement, he continued to work as a musician in various locations throughout Alaska. Mr. Riley was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10252 and a member of the Moose Lodge. He was also a big brother for the Big Brother Program. Mr. Riley loved country music, playing his guitar and playing in bands. He also enjoyed camping with his family. His family said: ''Gerald was a loving husband and a great stepdad. He raised seven children and two grandchildren. Gerald had a heart of gold and would help anyone that needed him. He always had a sense of humor, even up to the end.'' Mr. Riley is survived by his wife, Olga Riley of Anchorage; stepchildren, Sharlann Enright and her husband David Bronfman Sr., Timothy Enright and his wife Tina Mitvitnikoff, Jim Enright, Michael Enright, Peggy Enright, Donna Delatorre and her husband Javier, and Carol Pedersen; grandchildren, Andrew, Eric, Jeremy, Sarah, David, Debra, Delila, Brian, Christopher, Christian, Jordan, Deanndra, Stephanie, Jessica, Joseph, Justin, Tristan, Silvia, Trisha, Katherine and Brandon; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorial donations or condolences be sent to his wife, Olga Riley, 910 Turpin St., Anchorage 99504. Arrangements were by Evergreen Memorial Chapel downtown.
