DIES AT MIDWAY, AFTER TWO HOURS ILLNESS', LEAVES LARGE ESTATE

News was received here Tuesday morning of the sudden death of John B. Swope at his home near Midway Monday Night. His death was very sudden and a shock to his many friends all over Central Kentucky.

Two hours before his death seemingly he was in the best of health and at Midway Monday afternoon to attend to some business.

When he returned to his home in the country he was seized with a stroke of apoplexy and died about 6 o'clock.

Mr. Swope was one of Woodford County's most prominent and prosperous farmers. He was widely connected and well known in Central Kentucky and his sudden death will come as a surprise to many. He was about sixty years old and survived by his widow, who was Miss Annie Wallace, and a son, Felix Swope.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 o'clock at his late residence.

He was a brother of Thomas H. Swope, a capitalist of Kansas City. He leaves an estate valued at about $100,000.
