Harry served as a Second Lieutenant on B-24J "Barbara Jean" #44-40980, 65th Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Yuba County, California prior to the war.

He was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant on April 15, 1944.

B-24J #44-40980 took off from Clark Field, Philippines on an instrument test. They crashed, for an unknown reason, into the side of a mountain near the field during the war.

Harry was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred overseas in Manila and was later repatriated here on February 16, 1950.

Service # O-775164

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
