The Edmonson County native was the son of the late James Riley Hawkins and the late Ada Buckingham Hawkins and the husband of Ruth Ray Hawkins who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Dennis Hawkins (Mary) of Park City, KY and Larry Hawkins (Marsha) of Pig, KY; six grandchildren, Tammy Atwell (Russell), Christy Dunn (Frank), Jarrod Hawkins (Beth), Laura Houchens (Chris), Jason Hawkins (Courtney) and Lisa Bale (Les) and seven great grandchildren, Morgan Atwell, Alex Hawkins, Tyler Atwell, Julia Hawkins, Jackson Houchens, Alana Houchens and Ava Bale.
Services will be officiated by Bro. Wayne Tomes with burial in the Hawkins Cemetery.
