Funeral services for Doris Pierce Alford, 74, of Gardendale, formerly of Brownwood, were held March 11, 2001 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Greenleaf Cemetery. She passed away on March 8, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mrs. Alford was born on November 18, 1926, in Milam County. She married Roy. C. Alford on August 3, 1979, in Rankin. He survives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Pierce, in 1976, three sisters, and six brothers.
Also surviving are daughters, Earline (Ronnie) of Pflugerville and Elsie (James) Peck of Gardendale, son, Richard L. (Ruth) Pierce of Brownwood, brother, Cecil Hill of Illinois, six grandchildren, Steven Dodd, Johnny Dodd, Travis Pierce, Rikki Lynne Butts, and Cole Lawler, a stepson, Randy (Casey) Alford of Gardendale, a stepdaughter, Maricia Dowden of Granbury, nine stepgrandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
