Frederick "Fred" R. Henry, 58, of Gardners died on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born in Aspers, Adams County, on Dec. 27, 1952, to the late Robert D. Henry and Betty J. Hostetter Henry of Aspers.
Fred was the owner of Best Auto Sales of Carlisle. He was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Gardners, Mt. Holly Springs American Legion Post 674 and the Cumberland County Men's Pool League. Fred enjoyed camping, fishing and working on cars and was an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Weidner Henry of Gardners, twin sons Brett F. and Bradd W. Henry, and a daughter Jill C. Shields and her husband Joseph, all of Gardners; his mother, Betty J. Henry of Aspers; a brother, Robert D. Henry and his wife Victoria of Carlisle; two nephews, Robert Donald and Michael Henry; and a niece, Paula Cottrell.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 3 p.m. at Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt.Holly Springs. Officiating will be the Rev. Jan E. Custer. Interment will be in the Goodyear Cemetery, Gardners.
There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.
