Mrs. Amy Lou Elliott, 84, of Hamburg died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. A native of Vernon, AL, she had lived in Hamburg for the past 55 years and was a homemaker, a charter member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and a former member of the Eastern Star and the Hamburg Extension Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Elliott, in 1996; her parents, Pinkney and Isabella Gaught Walden; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Hudson. Survivors are a son, Jerry Wayne Elliott and wife Jean; a daughter, Virginia Raye Mann and husband, J. W., all of Hamburg; a sister, Willie Barnes of Columbus, MS; five grandchildren, Johnny W. Mann, Billy W. Mann, Glen Elliott, Mary Jacquese Marrow and Denise Hudson; and six great-grandchildren. Grave-side services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in the Hamburg Cemetery with Revs. Joel Meredith and Mike Titsworth officiating. Grandchildren and spouses were to be honorary pallbearers. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
