Rev. John Everett Perryman, Jr., 85, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 10, 2013 after a short illness.

John was born August 16, 1928 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a preacher's son and grew up in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, graduating from High School in Coleman Texas. He attended college at Bethany Peniel College in Bethany, Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Mildred Alice Krigbaum. Following their marriage, he attended seminary at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. There he received the Bachelor and Master Degrees of Divinity and was ordained as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He pastored Nazarene churches in Rotan, Texas; Beaumont, Texas; Clovis, New Mexico; and Bismarck, North Dakota. He later worked for the State Of Texas Social Services in Welfare Management for Children and the Elderly. After retirement, he served as interim minister for several Nazarene Churches, including extended interims at Blossom and Cisco, Texas. He never missed an opportunity to spread the Lord's word. He remained an Ordained Minister of the Nazarene Church until his passing.

John was preceded in death by his parents John Perryman, Sr. and Neta Perryman. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Alice Krigbaum Perryman of Graham, Texas; his sister Nita Rae Perryman Bohanan of Bethany, Oklahoma; Son Gary Paul Perryman of Arlington, Texas; daughter Gayle Ann Perryman Mikel and husband Mike of Fort Worth, Texas; and grandchildren Nyssa Marie Perryman of Reno, Nevada and John Andrew Mikel and wife Mallorie of Haslet, Texas.

A Celebration of John's life will be held at First Methodist Church of Graham on Sunday, October 13, at 2 PM, with interment to follow at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham.
