Lee Sims, 73, of Naples, FL died August 11, 2011, with her family by her side in the Frances Georgeson Hospice House.

A memorial service and reception for friends and family will be held Mon., Aug. 15th at 11:00 at the Naples Community Church at 849 Seventh Ave. S.

She was born October 10, 1937, in Chester, SC to the late Pat and John Quincy Adams. She graduated Chester High School in 1955 and went on to attend Winthrop College, Rock Hill, SC. She then went to Washington DC to work for Congressman Robert Hemphill of South Carolina. There she met husband, Col. Jack A. Sims, (Ret. Air Force and former Doolittle Tokyo Raider). They married and lived in London, England for three years and then retired to Naples, FL where they had a daughter, Kimberly.

Having lived in Naples for 45 years, Lee was an active member of the community. She was a former owner of the jewelry boutique in the Beach Club Hotel and a Realtor for close to 30 years. In addition, she was a past member of Port Royal Club, Royal Poinciana Club and an active member of the Naples Yacht Club. Lee was also involved with various charities and was a founding member of Naples Community Church.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Jack A. Sims. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Sims Staley (husband, Scott); sister, Mary Peebles of VA; sister, Jonnie Boulware of SC; grandchildren, Quincy and Kal Staley; step-children Brigit Hansen, Mike Sims, John Sims and many loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to long time friends Dottie Freeland and Stella Oreschnick.
