Ruby Irene Parker
Ruby Irene Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Powers, was born May 1, 1901, at Republic, Kansas, and died September 17, 1954, at Broadstone Memorial hospital in Superior, Neb., at the age of 53 years, 4 months, 16 days.
On September 22, 1920, she was united in marriage to Charles D. Parker. To this union were born four children, Charles Francis Parker of Owatonna, Minn., Leonard Calvin Parker of Ellis, Kan., Donald Howard Parker of Republic, Kan., and Joyce Irene Banks of Campbell, Neb.
Mrs. Parker had been a resident of the Republic community all of her life. She received her education at Center Valley school in Republic county. She was a member of Republic Evangelical United Brethren church where she served in many capacities. Among them she taught a Sunday school class and worked with the Christian Endeavor society.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Powers in 1952 and one sister, Zelma Grace Powers in 1913.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, four children, three grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held September 20 at Evangelical United Brethren church in Republic with the Rev. Lowell Thuma and the Rev. J.H. Crandall officiating. Interment was in Washington cemetery, Republic.
