MARENGO - Hilda S. Freise, 77, of Marengo, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at her home.
She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Palatine, to Herman and Selma (Garms) Glade.
On April 29, 1944, she married George Freise in Palatine.
They moved to Marengo in August 1955.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, as well as the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of Marengo; four children, Larry (Angie) Freise of Hemet, Calif., George L. (Vickie) Freise of Marengo, Randy Freise of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Christine (Jerry) Gieseke of Marengo; 11 grandchildren, Brett (Sarah) Gieseke, Autumn (fiance Marc Bechler) Gieseke, Ryan, Jeremy and Quinn Gieseke, and Matthew, Julie, Robin, Nicole, Samuel and Danny Freise; two sisters, Laura Freise of Marengo and Lois (Howard) Freise of Kingston; and two brothers, Wilbert (Rosalie) Glade of Elk Grove Village and Richard (Betty) Glade of Rolling Meadows.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Viola Rohde and Verna Schulz; and a brother, Alfred Glade.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Tuesday, July 23, at Zion Lutheran Church, 408 Jackson St., Marengo. The Rev. Glen Borhart will officiate.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her name to Zion Lutheran Church Women's Missionary League or to O.S.F. Hospice.
