He was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Schaumburg, the son of Henry J. and Christine (Kirchoff) Freise.
He operated the Freise Country Meat Market from his home in Union and had been a butcher for 21 years.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Marengo and the Union School District 8 board where he served his third term as president. He was a former Democratic committeeman for Coral Township and was also a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Elvira (Heide) Freise, to whom he was married, June 26, 1935; a daughter, Lois at home; three sons, Henry W., Kenneth and Donald, all of Union; his father of West Dundee; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Zoellick of Roselle and Mrs. Laura Thurow of Crystal Lake; two brothers, Robert of Elgin and George of Marengo; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his stepmother, Paula; a sister, Sophie Winkelman; a twin brother, William.
