Calvin Dana Ross, 69, of Overton passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, in Las Vegas.He was born in Johnson City, N.Y., on Feb. 5, 1936, where he was raised. He moved to California where he met the love of his life, Karen Clarice McCain. They married on July 18, 1970, in Las Vegas.They spent the next 35 years together, raising three daughters and working in various underground mines throughout Nevada and Utah, retiring from Newmont Gold Company in Elko as an underground electrician in 2001.After retirement, Calvin and Karen moved to Overton where they enjoyed the past few years doing the things that they enjoyed most in life together.Calvin was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Overton; mother, Bertha Ross of Nephi, Utah; sisters, Sandy (Larry) Phorderson of Pennsylvania, Sherri (Jim) Moore of Arizona, and Judy (Paul) McPherson of Utah; brothers, Gary (Donna) Ross of Georgia, and Rexford (Betty) Ross of New York; daughters, Heather (Dennis) Owens of Carlin, Dawn (David) Delaney of Elko, and Elizabeth (Spencer) Pengelly of Elko; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Services will be held at the LDS Chapel in Overton on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at 2 p.m.
