Mr. Neal Burt, 82, of Hamburg died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native and former resident of Crossett, he lived in the Springhill community outside Hamburg for the past 38 years. He retired in1972 from the Crossett Company after 41 years of service. A member of the First Baptist Church in Crossett, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest B. and Estelle McGheehee Burt; three brothers, Fred, Layton and Kenneth Burt; a sister, Eula Cone; and a grandson, Mitchell Burt. Survivors are his wife, Myrtle Haddox Burt; two sons, Bobby and Nicky Burt, all of Hamburg; a brother, Felton Burt of Diboll, TX; three sisters, Nell Klienpeter of Thibodoux, LA, Norma Cox of Shreveport, LA, and Elsie Bailey of Crossett; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Grave-side services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, in the Egypt Cemetery with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Arrangements were by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
