Rev. Hunter was an itinerant preacher of wide reknown. He traveled a circuit from Ohio up to Michigan. He married Emily Gillen on 11 Sep 1828 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. They had 5 known children: Susan, James, Martha, Isaac C., Jr., and John E.

Isaac C. Hunter was admitted on trial to the Methodist Episcopal ministry at the annual conference 7 Aug 1819 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was ordained a Deacon about 1821. In 1823 he became an Elder.
