LUBBOCK-Mamie Lee Young, 80, of Lubbock passed away on Oct. 5, 2013, at UMC.

Mamie was born on July 20, 1933, in Bryan, Texas, to the parentage of M.C. and Annie Mae Hollie (Jones).

She was a foster grandparent for ten years. Mamie was a faithful member of Agape Temple Church of God in Christ and served as an evangelist, missionary, and president of the Lubbock District 1 Mother's Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Annie Hollie; two husbands; three brothers; three sisters; and three children. She leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Rose Wilson; her daughter, Dorothy L. Johnson; her son's, George Howard Jr. (Chaunnte), Gary Howard (Delfina), Larry Howard (Jeanie), Michael Howard (Rochelle); 30 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; as well as several nephews, nieces, other relatives, church family, and friends.

Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Agape Temple C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
