Steven K. Robison, 59, of Seymour, died at 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
He is survived by a brother, Jon C. (Peggy) Robison.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown, with the Rev. Gary Morning officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Steven K. Robison, 59, Seymour, passed away at 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
A lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was born to Robert L. Robison and Marjorie Jean (Stotz) Robison on Sept. 21, 1954.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Jon C. and Peggy Robison; his nieces, Jennifer Robison and Lisa Robison; and nephews, Mark Robison and Stuart Robison; and his special cat, Kitty.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
He attended Brownstown Christian Church. Always eager to learn, Steve graduated magna cum laude from DePauw University with a bachelor's degree in political science and a strong background in German, economics and accounting. While at DePauw, he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma (freshman men's honorary) and Pi Sigma Alpha (political science honorary). He participated in DePauw's Contemporary Europe semester studies in Eastern Europe, traveling in several foreign countries, including Austria, Hungary, Germany and the former USSR. He received his juris doctorate degree with distinction from Duke University School of Law in 1979.
Steve was a partner in the law firm of Montgomery,
Elsner and Pardieck, where he had practiced for 33 years. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association (member House of Delegates), Jackson County Bar Association (past president and vice president), Kentucky Bar Association, and the Louisville Bar Association. He developed substantial expertise in the area of Social Security disability law, representing more than 5,000 disability claimants in his career.
He also wrote and published numerous articles and delivered presentations at conferences and continuing education seminars on the subject of Social Security
disability law.
He was greatly loved and will be missed by his partners, co-workers both past and present, and the many friends he made during his years with the firm.
Steve was a very active member of the Jackson Lodge 146, Free and Accepted Masons, where he served as worshipful master in 1996 and 2011, as secretary in 1997 and 1998, as editor of the Trestle Board for more than 10 years, and as historian. In 2007, he was named Jackson Lodge 146 Mason of the Year. Steve was the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award in the legal area, for the Seymour DeMolay Chapter in 1990. He received the Legion of Honor, the highest degree and honor conferred by the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay, in 1994.
He was a member of the Indianapolis Valley of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Jackson County Scottish Rite Club, Seymour Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons, York Rite, Seymour Chapter Select and Royal Masters, York Rite, Seymour Commandery 56 Order of the Knights Templar, York Rite, Indianapolis Murat Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Shriners International, Seymour Council of Cryptic Masons of Indiana, and Jackson County Order of Eastern Star. He served as historian for the Grand Lodge and the Heritage Foundation.
Locally, he served on the board of directors for Jackson County Big Brothers/Big Sisters (past president and vice president), Jackson County United Fund, Leadership Jackson County, and the Seymour Board of Zoning Appeals from 2001 to present. He had served as the board's chairman since 2002. He also contributed to the weekly opinion page of The Tribune with his weekly ""Thoughts for the Weekend"" column.
From 1980 to 1983, he was active in Jackson County Community Theatre, having roles in several plays including ""Mousetrap,"" ""Prisoner of Second Avenue,"" and ""Kiss Me Kate.""
Steve was an avid reader, with an emphasis on 19th and 20th Century American history, Russian history, German history, medieval history, ancient history, humor, folklore and historical novels.
He was well-known for his political opinions and ability to debate political issues, both past and present. He was also a well-known public speaker.
He enjoyed eating out, riding his motorcycle with friends, traveling with Masonic Lodge members, watching movies - especially science fiction movies - and discussing politics. A numismatist, he also enjoyed collecting elephants, fountain pens, historical writings, and political campaign buttons.
