Margie Evelyn Robinson Nelson, 85, of China Spring, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 11, at OakCrest. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 12, at OakCrest Funeral Home with burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Margie was born in rural McLennan County, Texas, near China Spring, to the late Homer and Ona Wallace Robinson, the second of four children. Margie attended school in China Spring and later transferred to Waco High School, graduating in 1946. During the Revival of 1939, Margie was saved and baptized at the First Baptist Church in China Spring where she was a life time member. She married Howard Nelson on March 22, 1947.

Margie was well known for her "Marge Burgers" at the Country Store. Later, she opened a daycare for toddlers. In 1978, she was a caregiver for Veterans of War in her home. Margie was a devoted Christian and lived life for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Nelson Sr., daughter, Darlene, who died September 23, 1975; daughter, Debbie Nelson, who died July 30, 2000; a sister, Lois Wade; and brother, James Robinson.

Survivors include her son, Howard "Bubba" Nelson Jr. and wife, Cecile, of China Spring; grandsons: Craig Ewing and wife, Lisa, of Oglesby, Kevin Ewing and wife, Mary, of Jonestown, and Joshua Rowell and wife, Jordan, of Irving; five great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline "Polly" Smith, of Waco; many nieces, nephews, and numerous relatives and friends.
