Obituary

REED, Julia Boozer, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. from Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Glen Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the church. Julia was born in Thomaston, AL, on November 27, 1922 to Thomas Richard and Mattie Griffith Boozer. She grew up in Marengo County and later in Dallas County. She had five brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by four of her brothers, James, Fred, Melvin and David Boozer; and both sisters, Virginia and Francis. She is survived by her brother, Billy Boozer.
Julia was married to Clurin B. Reed, Jr., in 1944, until his death in 2002. They had five children, Clurin B. Reed, III (Donna), Carol Haigler (Larry), David Reed (Ginger), Glen Reed (Sandra), and James Reed (Kay). She has 11 grandchildren, Julie Smith (Steve), Arden Pathak (Neil), Reed Hoppe (Mike), Patti Pelham (Nick), Anna Haigler, Billy Haigler (Denee), Brett Haigler (Julie), Heather Hines (Todd), Julia Reed, Todd Reed (Lindsey) and Cody Reed; she has 16 great grandchildren.
Julia was a dedicated member of the Builders Class of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for 55 years. She lived her life as a servant of God, dedicated to His service. The consummate mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and mother-in-law, she was an extraordinary person and will be greatly missed.
