Leon was a longtime farmer of the Stone House Farm in Brownington. He was a lifetime lover of animals big and small including nationally recognized Ayrshire and Guernsey cows for which earned him recognition in the Hall of Fame at the Vermont Eastern States Exposition Building. From his champion bull merit "Noble Boss" to his varied breeds of Show chickens, registered collies, he very much enjoyed showing and judging cattle.
After farming he pursued a longtime interest in Antiques, perhaps his favorites were his Sawyer Prints and hens on a nest. He could often be seen at Various Flea Market looking to buy, sell, swap or just tell a joke.
He is survived by his wife Mary Perry of Brownington, VT, and by his children: Kathy and Stan Robinson, Gina and Steve Gracie, and Steve and Tammy Mitchell, by his siblings: Clemence LeBlond of Troy, VT, Claire Lyon of Brownington, VT, Loretta McCoy and her husband Dale of Orleans, VT, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, who he was fondly referred to as "Uncle Leon" and "Grandpa Leon" and by his brother-in-law Raymond Darling of Barton, VT.
He was predeceased by his parents Ezekiel and Cecile Perry, by his sisters Blanche Coates and Mary Darling and by his brothers: Maurice, Noel and Francis Perry.
