Leslie Wayne Stinson, 67, died Wednesday October 9, 2013 in Greenwood. He was a resident of Greenwood.
Wayne was born August 4, 1946 in Simpson County, Kentucky.
He was a truck driver for Knight Transportation in Indianapolis, retiring in 2009 after 33 years of service.
He was a member of the Martin's Chapel General Baptist Church in Portland, Tennessee. He was a county person at heart, enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family, specially the grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife, Carolyn (Hall) Stinson of Greenwood, mother, Ida (Bowman) Stinson of Tennessee, two children, Beth Proctor and Brian Stinson both of Greenwood, brother, Clarence Milton( Robbie) Stinson of Indianapolis, two sisters, Nancy Gibbs and Anita (Bobby) Swindle both of Tennessee, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie P. Stinson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 11, 2013 at Southport Heights Christian Church, 7154 McFarland Rd, Indianapolis, In. 46227.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
