Michael D. Vanhook, age 52, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 6, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Janice Caudill Vanhook of Morehead and the late Jack Vanhook. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Anna Davis Caudill, Albert Vanhook, and Hilda Moore.

He was a former employee of The Morehead News, Seal Master Bearings, and White's Millworks. Mike enjoyed being around friends and family. He was a friendly and kind person to all who knew him. Mike will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered as a special son, brother, and friend.

In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by one sister, Jackie Vanhook of Morehead; three aunts, Frankie Calvert of Morehead, Olive Lee of Winchester, and Edna Caudill of California; one uncle, James Black of Ohio; several cousins; and a very special person, Crystal Cooley of Morehead.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.

Pallbearers will be Robert Russell, Tim Davis, Curt Conley, Mike Ferguson, Eugene Glover, and Darryl Davis.
