Full Obituary:
Martha Eleanor McCormick (Ellie) born July 29th, 1935 died February 10, 2011. Ellie was born in Bluefield West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Thelma Hampton, her brothers Robert N, and William R. Hampton, Emmett and Elbert Goins, and her sister Elsie Gaynita Hampton McGraw. She is survived by her three children, Ramona Wright (William), Jill McCormick, and Dwight McCormick II (Sarah), and four grandchildren, Josh (Lori) and Levi Wright, and Chloe and Phoebe McCormick. She had two great grandchildren, Ainsley Wright and Nick Crawford. Ellie was known for her intense determination in every endeavor. She was also known for her love of God and her integrity. She loved music and enjoyed dancing and had a playful spirit. Ellie graduated from Marshall University with a Masters degree in Psychology and worked for many years as a Supervised Clinical Psychologist primarily in an Adolescent in-patient mental health facility. Her Christian faith was the focus of her life and family. Ellie was called to and completed a Certified Lay Pastor program in the Presbyterian Church USA. She was an excellent preacher and public speaker, loved to laugh, and was known for her keen and meticulous sense of style. A memorial service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church of Springfield, OH on Monday, February 14th, at 11a.m. with Rev. Denise Ingram officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the youth program of Northminster Presbyterian Church, 400 Villa Road Springfield, OH 45503. The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
