Actor. He played talkative, streetwise types in B films of the 1930s. Born in Connecticut, Jans spent most of his acting career on the stage. With the exception of "Wild People" (1932), he made all his 14 movie appearances in one busy year, 1936 to 1937. They include "Two in Revolt" (1936), "The Last Outlaw" (1936), "Charlie Chan at the Race Track" (1936), "That Girl From Paris" (1937), "Don't Tell the Wife" (1937), and "Bad Guy" (1937). He died at the Motion Picture Country Home.
