Elvira Feller, age 95, passed away rather suddenly early Sunday morning, March 27, 2011. Elvira was born in Shiocton on July 10, 1915, daughter of the late Louis and Augusta (Buss) Conradt. She was a graduate of the Shiocton High School and Outagamie County Normal School. As a young woman, she taught school briefly until her marriage to Harold Feller on May 1, 1937. He preceded her in death in July of 1972. Elvira was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, and while she was raising her family served as a member and past president of the Altar Society. She was also a member and past president of the Kaukauna Homemakers Club. After her husband's death, Elvira worked as a baker at the Kaukauna Community Hospital. Elvira was an avid card player, and was always ready to be challenged to a game of sheephead or cribbage. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, cooking, and baking. Her family will always fondly recall her many gifts of hand made dishtowels, Santa mittens, tree skirts, baby blankets and washcloths. Elvira is survived the three children: Barbara (John) Tetzlaff, John (Giovanna) Feller, and Gary (Diane) Feller, all of Kaukauna; a son-in-law: Robert Vanevenhoven of Greenville; ten grandchildren: Keith Vanevenhoven, Michael Vanevenhoven, Sue (Thomas) Vercauteren, Lorie (Kenneth) Deering, Mark (Trisha) Tetzlaff, Brian (Jennifer) Tetzlaff, Sheila Snow, Corey (Amanda) Feller, Heather (Seth) Ponschock, and Albert (Amanda) Van Eyck; and thirty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother: Daniel Conradt of Shawano and a sister-in-law: Irene Yunk of Townsend. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, daughters Myra Vanevenhoven and Donna (Norman) Snow; Robert Vanevenhoven's wife Sue, and infant grandson Robert, sisters Evelyn and Dorothy, and brothers Vilas, Norman, Wilbert, and David, and an infant brother and an infant sister. The funeral liturgy for Elvira will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
