Death Claims A. L. Marlette of Fultonville
FULTONVILLE. Oct. 22.- Albert
L. Marlette, native and lifelong
resident of Fultonville, died at
1:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon
at the Amsterdam City Hospital,
where he was taken Monday suf-
fering with injuries received when,
he fell from a tree.
Mr. Marlette was alone picking
apples for himself in the orchard
of the Delbert Friers farm, a short I
distance west of this village, when
he fell. His brother-in-law, David
Baldwin, drove to the farm to
bring Mr. Marlette home and when
he did not find him, returned
home. Later when Mr. Marlette
didn't arrive, Mr. Baldwin went
again to the Friers farm. This
time, he and Mr. Friers we^it to
the orchard where they found Mr.
Marlette lying under a tree. He
was taken to his home in Fultonville
and later transported by ambulance
to the hospital.
He was born in Fultonville on
December 16, 1880, at the family home
on Erie Street, where he had
always resided. He was the son
of John C. and Anna Eliza Fonda
Marlette. A plumber by trade,
he operated his own business in
the community. He was also well
known as a bakemaster, and had
charge of most of the community
clambakes. He was an exempt
member of Aetna Engine Company
and was affiliated with the Reformed
Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Postmaster
Darius P. Marlette, Fultonville, James
Marlette, Johnstown, and A. Zoller Marlette
Shamokin, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Samuel
David, Gloversville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Bacchus,
Mrs. Peter M. Morford and Mrs. David Baldwin,
Fultonville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 P. M.
at the Todd funeral home, the Rev. Harry E.
Christiana, Port Ewen, former local pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Avenue
Cemetery.
