OBITUARY-
SPRING VALLEY -- The funeral for Emily Galloway will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, with the Rev. William Rowen officiating. Burial will be in Frankford Cemetery in rural Spring Valley.
Mrs. Galloway, 97, of Spring Valley, a former farm homemaker, died Monday (June 14, 2004) at Ostrander Nursing Home.
Emily Cole was born Aug. 22, 1906, in Toledo, Iowa, and moved to Spring Valley with her family when she was 4. On April 23, 1925, she married Leo Galloway in Preston. They lived on a farm west of Spring Valley, and later moved west of LeRoy and then west of Spring Valley. After her husband's death, she moved to Hillside Apartments in Spring Valley. Mrs. Galloway was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlys Zwart of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a great-grandson, three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
