She was born to the late Cleo and Laura (Richardson) Rush.
She was a former Fairmount resident until 1995 when she moved to Michigan to be with her family.
She married Kenneth Brookshire on Jan. 21, 1939. They were married for more than 50 years. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1993. They were retired farmers.
She also was employed by Ben Franklin Store in Fairmount and Farnsworth Radio (former RCA/ Thomson) in Marion.
She attended Fairmount High School and was a member of Back Creek Wesleyan Church. She loved to play cards and games on her computer.
Survivors include children, Phyllis (Robert) Pierson, Rochester, Mich., and Dan Brookshire, Lake Orion, Mich.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Ebert.
