DECATUR - Richard C. Hundley, 87, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin, with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Military and Masonic graveside rites will also be conducted.

Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.

Richard was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Herrin, the son of Richard and Mary Rosana (Heppill) Hundley.

He married Norma Lee Hundley on July 2, 1955, in De Soto.

She preceded him in death May 2, 2009.

Richard was a member of Central Christian Church.

He worked as a crane operator for Caterpillar Tractor.

Richard was a member of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge 979 AF and AM, Zohak Grotto, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple in Springfield, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his children Roger (Rose) of Robstown, Texas, Emma (Mahommad) of Collinsville, and Michael (Jenny) of Forsyth; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert of Owensboro, Ky., Royce of Herrin; sisters, Mabel of Herrin, and Ellen of Paris Crossing, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; son, Richard; one brother; and one sister.
