LaDonna Bell was born January 25, 1954 in Benham, Kentucky. LaDonna is preceded in death by her parents Fred Grant (1970) and Roberta Frances (2011.)
LaDonna was raised along with her five brothers and sisters, in Lima, Ohio. She graduated from Lima Senior High before she continued her education at the University of Illinois, in Joliet, where she obtained her BA in Social Work. While in Joliet, LaDonna worked for Will County Job and Family Services; she married Greggory Waddell Bell; and bore two children: Quantesha Marie and Eric Grant Bell, both of whom currently reside in Blacklick, Ohio.
After the passing of her first husband, Greggory (1988), LaDonna and her children briefly returned to Lima, Ohio before they moved to Columbus, Ohio. LaDonna remarried, Edward "Pete" Durrly (2013), and continued her career in social-work at Maryhaven until she retired in 2011.
LaDonna was a free-spirited woman who enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing, shopping, and decorating. LaDonna maintained an incredible sense of self, dignity, and pride, and always remained devoted to her children and family.
LaDonna is survived by her two children Quantesha Marie and Eric Grant; loving grandson Marcus Anthony Bell; caring aunt Carolyn Marie; five brothers and sisters: Paul, Steven, and Valerie, of Columbus, Jean of Detroit, MI, and her brother William (Helena) of Aurora, CO; step-sons; her Joliet family; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. LaDonna also leaves behind many friends, one most specifically: Linda K. Martin Dukes, her best friend and soul-sister since childhood.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on Thursday, October 10th, from 5 to 8pm, where a funeral service will follow at 11am on Friday, October 11th. Interment will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
