Barbara Reynolds married Frank Hayes Crowell on November 2, 1946, in Wichita Falls, TX. They raised their family in Lubbock, where they operated a family-owned insurance agency. Barbara served as the office manager for over 20 years.
She was a founding member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in Lubbock. She also attended Lakeridge United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed china painting, sewing, and needlepoint during her retirement years. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her large family and always looked forward to the many phone calls she received each week.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Crowell.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Kirkpatrick and husband Jim of Ft. Worth, Cathey Graves and husband Ike of Midland and Connie Thomas of Houston; a son, Dennis Crowell and wife Beatta of Amarillo; a sister, Jackie Hall of Wichita Falls; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
A special thank you from the family to Barbara's caretakers and special friends Sharolyn "Cookie" Cartwright and Bessie Ector, both of Houston, for their devoted service and friendship to Barbara. She cherished her time with them and appreciated everything they did for her. They will always hold a special place in the hearts of the family.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Lubbock. Arrangements are provided by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. in Amarillo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030.
