Funeral Services Saturday At Locust Hill For F. M. Brenizer Of Novelty
Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Locust Hill Community Church for Francis Marion Brenizer, 78, of Novelty, who died at 11 o'clock Wednesday night, Aug. 28, 1970, at Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville. The Reverends Barbara Barnett of Edina and Bob Schofield of Lancaster, formerly of Novelty, officiating and burial was in the Locust Hill Cemetery, west of Novelty, with grandsons as pallbearers. Mr. and Mrs. Brenizer had lived in Novelty the last eight years and 44 years in the Novelty vicinity. The body was at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina until noon Saturday when it was taken to the church to lie in state.
Surviving with the wife, the former Carrie Emma Weitzel, whom he married Nov. 24, 1912, at Queen City, are three sons, Frederick Grant Brenizer of Bonne Terre, Perley Francis Brenizer of northwest of Novelty and Victor Ivan Brenizer of Quincy, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, John Henry and William Ray Brenizer of Kirksville, and a sister, Bessie May, Mrs. Earnest Fowler, of Greentop.
Mr. Brenizer was born April 25, 1892, at Queen City, a son of Ulysses Grant and Sibelia Huffman Brenizer, who preceded him in death as did three sisters and three brothers. Mr. Brenizer was a member of the Novelty Christian Church. He and Mrs. Brenizer observed their golden wedding anniversary Nov. 25, 1962, at the American Legion Hall in Novelty.
