Mrs. Willie Birdie Towler, 76, member of a prominent and well-known Walton County family, died Tuesday at the Walton County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Mt. Vernon Christian Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The Rev. E. N. Anthony, assisted by the Rev. Otis Swords will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The E. L. Almand Company is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Towler, 76, made her home with a son, Ralph G. Hale, in the Sorrells Springs community. She was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends. She was the daughter of the late John and Martha Parks Adams.
Survivors include three sons, Lee Hale, Gratis, and Parks and Ralph Hale, both of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Roy Gunter, Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers, B. C. Adams, Atlanta, and Troy Adams, Tucker; four sisters, Mrs. Perry Breedlove, Gratis, Mrs. Jim Patrick, Statham, Mrs. Wesley, Griffin, Monroe, and Mrs. R. P. Hearn, Atlanta; a sister-in-law, Mrs. R. P. Adams, Decatur; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
