ANISFELD, Dr. Moshe Of Newton Centre, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Peal) for 50 years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Shimon Cohen Anisfeld & his wife Sharon, Miriam Mintzer & her husband Mark Willcher, Rachel Anisfeld & her husband Timothy Lytton. Loving grandfather of Daniel & Talia Anisfeld, and Medad, Margalit & Asher Lytton. Dear brother of Bracha Ernst, Rachel Landau. Moshe was born on May 3, 1934 in Krakow, Poland into a Hassidic family. He survived the Holocaust in Siberia with his mother and siblings, and, after much travail, arrived in Israel in 1949. He was in the first graduating class of Bar-Ilan University and then received his PhD in Psychology from McGill. He was an internationally recognized scholar of early language development and taught for 38 years at Yeshiva University before moving to Newton. He also had a long-standing passion for Rashi and Agnon and recently published articles on Rashis commentary. He will be remembered for his determination, warmth, insightfulness, and sense of humor. Services at The Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, BROOKLINE on Tuesday, October 8 at 1:00 pm. Interment at Chevra Shaas Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Shiva at the family home through Friday afternoon, and again on Sunday and Monday. Minchah/Maariv: Tues & Wed 6pm, Thurs 5:55pm, Sun 5:50pm. Shacharit: Wed & Fri 6:40am, Thurs 6:30am, Sun 8:00am, Mon 6:30am. Visitation: Tues 6-9pm, Wed, Thurs, & Sun 10:30am4pm, 6-9pm, Fri 10:30am2:30 pm.
